Each subject had been trained on left and right hearing aids, and the position of a symbol denotes the effective offsets learned in both aids. Most subjects have learned relatively symmetric settings, with four exceptions (subjects 7, 8, 10, and 12). Noise reduction preferences are very different among the subjects.
